Baltimore, MD – Oct. 25, 2025 - The Jewish Uniformed Service Association of Maryland–Chabad (JUSA) has announced the launch of its Federal Law Enforcement & Military Emergency Fund to assist Federal Law Enforcement officers and Military service members affected by the ongoing federal government shutdown.
As the shutdown continues, many Federal Law Enforcement officers and Military personnel continue to serve on the front lines protecting communities and defending the nation all while facing delayed paychecks. The JUSA Emergency Fund provides interest-free loans to help relieve the immediate financial strain on these dedicated men and women.
This initiative builds on the success of JUSA’s original Federal Law Enforcement Emergency Fund during the 2019 government shutdown, which provided emergency financial relief to dozens of Federal officers and their families. The fund was widely praised by recipients and agency representatives as a vital show of community support during a challenging time.
“Our Federal Law Enforcement officers and Military personnel are serving our nation with dedication and honor, even as they face financial hardship,” said Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, Director of JUSA. “Now is the time for our community and corporate partners to stand behind them and to show appreciation and provide real, practical support.”
