Nathan Diament, Executive Director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center (OUA), issued a powerful statement following the tragic shooting of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, two Israeli Embassy staff members, outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC. In his statement on X, Diament stated,

“This is where incessant & unchecked antisemitism & the demonization of Israel leads; to the murder of innocents, the cutting off of a bright future.”

Adding to the gravity of the moment, 15 student leaders from the OUA’s Leaders In Advocacy Training (LIAT) fellowship program were in Washington, DC, at the time of the attack. These students, who have been at the forefront of fighting anti-Israel and antisemitic sentiment on their campuses, were just blocks away from the shooting while in the city for their advocacy training. This incident underscores the real-world stakes of their efforts to counter hate.
