Baltimore, MD - May 15, 2025 -  Today marks a remarkable milestone—Bill Goldberg joined Ner Yisrael exactly 40 years ago, on May 15, 1985. Since then, he has faithfully served thousands upon thousands of meals to generations of bachurim, always with a smile, a kind word, and unwavering professionalism. Bill’s office has become much more than a workspace—it’s a welcoming haven where boys come not only to grab a bite but also to relax, talk, and enjoy a moment of connection. His genuine love for the bachurim is felt deeply, and the feeling is mutual. We thank Bill for his incredible dedication and wish him many more years of good health, happiness, and continued service to the yeshiva.   ***********************************************************...

A mother’s letter. A child’s fight. Shira urgently needs life-saving care. You can help - but only if we act now. My name is Bracha, and I’m writing not only as a mother, but as someone who deeply believes in the quiet power of kindness. My daughter Shira is a bright, tender-hearted little girl. She’s been diagnosed with leukemia — a cancer of the blood. Her eyesight has already been affected, and the emotional toll on our family has been immense. Shira is currently receiving care in a local hospital in Poland, but doctors have urged us to transfer her to a specialized children's hospital in Vienna. There, she can receive the advanced, life-saving treatment she urgently needs. The cost of this treatment is over $150,000 — far beyond anything we ...
Continuing his Middle East trip, US President Donald Trump said Thursday that October 7, 2023, was “one of the worst days in the history of the world, not only in this region.” In comments at a meeting of business leaders in Doha, the US president said the Hamas-led assault on Israel, which killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, was “one of the worst, most atrocious attacks anyone has ever seen.” More than 5,000 terrorists burst into the south of the country on that day, rampaging murderously through border communities and abducting 251 people to Gaza, where 57 hostages remain in captivity. Terrorists slaughtered families as they huddled in their homes and massacred hundreds of people at an outdoor music festival. Israel responded with a military campaign to dest...
Despite denial from US officials, senior Hamas official Bassem Naim confirmed that the terror organization is holding direct talks with the US, Israeli media reported Thursday, citing an interview with Sky News in Arabic. "We believe that President Trump is doing the hard work of reducing tensions in the region, which is what motivates us to continue communicating with the American administration, regardless of the team," Naim said. Naim also claimed that Hamas told the deal mediators and the US that Hamas is ready to return all the hostages immediately if the terror group receives a promise that it will lead to an end to the war and the entry of aid into Gaza. On the Israeli side, there have been difficulties in renewed hostage negotiations in Doha, and no progress has b...

His creation should also enhance our appreciation of all of his creations. The world’s inhabitants and objects are not here coincidentally. They were all created intentionally by Hashem; each has a unique purpose, and thus great significance. Ben Azai taught: “Do not be scornful of any person and do not be disdainful of any ...
Some 350,000 New Jersey commuters could soon find themselves scrambling for other ways to get to work if contract disagreements between New Jersey Transit and its engineers’ union aren’t resolved, according to transit officials. The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) has threatened to strike as early as Friday, May 16 unless NJ Transit and the union are able to agree on new contract terms and conditions for the workers who drive the trains. If no deal is reached, all New Jersey Transit commuter trains – and the MTA Metro-North West of Hudson service – will stop running. “We have sought nothing more than equal pay for equal work, only to be continuously rebuffed by New Jersey Transit,” BLET General Chairman Tom Haas said during a pr...
A pregnant woman wounded in a terror attack in Yehuda/Shomron on Wednesday night has since passed away from her injuries on Thursday morning. The victim was later identified as 30-year-old Tzeela Gez, a'h, Hyd, who was on her way to deliver her fourth child. Later on Thursday, the IDF said that authorities now believe that a single terrorist conducted the attack in a sniper ambush from the side of the road. It was previously thought that the terrorist opened fire from a passing vehicle, initially at three cars, and one of them was hit, injuring the two civilians inside, near Pedu'el junction. The incident is still being investigated; however, according to initial findings, at 9:56 p.m., a lookout in the area spotted a hot zone in the thermal vision near Route 446 by Br...

Baltimore, MD - May 15, 2025 - The water quality in the Baltimore region is generally in decline with major concerns surrounding the Baltimore Harbor, Tidal Patapsco, and Gwynns Falls watersheds, according to the 2025 Water Quality Report Card by Blue Water Baltimore, a nonprofit environmental organization. “With 15 years of data, we can start to see long-term trends in our data,” said Alice Volpitta, the Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper for Blue Water Baltimore. “This sort of smooths out the year-to-year fluctuations and gives us a better idea of which direction we’re headed — healthier or sicker — regardless of rainfall. “Our data has revealed that unfortunately, overall water health is on the decline in three of our four major ecological regions: ...
Baltimore, MD - May 15, 2025 - After months of speculation, Maryland officially lost its coveted triple A bond rating after Moody’s downgraded the state’s creditworthiness. In the latest report, Moody’s assessment of Maryland’s creditworthiness was moved to Aa1, ending more than 30 years of the state holding the highest bond rating. The triple-A bond rating allows Maryland to pay the lowest rates when it sells bonds to foot the bill for public projects and investments; now however, the rate will be higher, meaning taxpayers will have to shell out more. The announcement comes on the heels of a tense legislative session where ultimately, Democrats in control of the General Assembly and the governor’s seat, moved to raise $1.6 billion in new tax and fee increa...

Ali Shamkhani, a top political, military, and nuclear advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, outlined Iran's proposed terms in an interview with NBC News on Wednesday. He stated that Iran would commit to never developing nuclear weapons, eliminate its stockpiles of highly-enriched uranium, restrict uranium enrichment to levels suitable for civilian use, and permit international inspections. "Yes," Shamkhani affirmed when asked if Iran would sign an agreement today if these conditions were met. Shamkhani's comments represent a significant public sta...
