Annapolis, MD - May 22, 2025 — The United States Senate passed a resolution that will end the coming ban on the sale of gas-powered cars in several states, including Maryland.
The resolution, known as Senate Joint Resolution 45, was applauded by Maryland State House Republicans as it will disapprove the California waiver to the Clean Air Act for Advanced Clean Cars II.
Governor Wes Moore adopted the California Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) and the Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rules in 2023.
This would've required all new passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs in Maryland to be zero-emission, by 2035.
In April, Governor Moore issued an Executive Order that delayed Maryland’s enforcement of these standards for two years.
“California’s emission standards do not re...
The Trump administration on Thursday revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing back-and-forth between the White House and the university.
“Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status,” the US Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.
Baltimore, MD - May 22, 2025 - Baltimore Shomrim Public Safety is shocked, saddened, and outraged by the tragic loss of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, a young couple who were part of the Israeli Embassy. They were attending an event in Washington, D.C. when they were murdered in a violent act of antisemitism. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and the Israeli Embassy. We strongly condemn all forms of hate, violence, and antisemitism. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to ensure our community's safety and build relationships to combat the rise of hate. We're grateful for the support of Baltimore City and County Police Departments, and state and federal agencies in providing enhanced security coverage for the Jewish community...
Security guards opened fire on Thursday on a person outside the gates of the CIA's headquarters near Washington, DC, and then took the suspect into custody, the intelligence agency said.
A CIA spokesperson said security staff "engaged a person" outside the main gates, and a source familiar with the matter said the suspect was a woman.
According to a source, a woman tried to drive through the main gate of the agency's headquarters. A source told Reuters that she never entered the compound, but refused to stop.
The spokesperson declined to say whether gunfire struck the suspect or to disclose any other details of the incident, except to say the person was now in custody.
Still unclear why the security guard opened fire

The IDF's control over Gaza has jumped over 50% on the way to being the vast majority of the Strip.
Whether that vast majority will stop at around 70% or go up to 100% as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a major speech on Wednesday night is a matter of debate and interpretation.
Already before this latest "Operation Gideon's Chariots" took off at the start of this week to further defeat Hamas and take over more Gazan territory, the IDF had taken over around 50% of Gaza since it renewed hostilities when negotiations for releasing more hostages broke down in March.
On Wednesday night and Thursday, IDF Col. Avichai Adraee warned Palestinian civilians in large portions of northern Gaza, including Beit Lahiya, Jabalia, and many other areas, to move toward so...
Agudath Israel of America is devastated by the horrific antisemitic terror attack last night when a man killed two employees of the Israeli embassy as they were leaving the AJC Young Diplomats reception at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. We offer our heartfelt prayers for the victims and their grieving families.
Since the October 7th Hamas massacre, antisemitism has surged across the country. This attack is a chilling realization of the calls to “globalize the intifada”— a slogan that has been disturbingly normalized, especially on college campuses, a call for nothing less than the hate-filled, cold-blooded murder of Jews, young and old, around the world simply because they are Jewish.
We are grateful to President Trump and his administration for the...
Last night's shooting at a Jewish event in Washington, D.C., when two Israeli Embassy staff were killed, was clearly no random act of violence. It was merely the latest, most horrifying manifestation of a trend that has been intensifying for months, if not years, under the global banner of calls to "Globalize the Intifada."
What happened in the heart of the U.S. capital—at the Capital Jewish Museum—was not just a tragedy; it was a warning.
A brutal confirmation that when antisemitic rhetoric is normalized and allowed to proliferate unchecked, it leads not only to hate and fear, but to bloodshed.
We have long been raising the alarm about the escalating threats posed by radical ideologies, particularly from the far left, that cloak their antisemitism in anti-Israel langua...
Baltimore, MD - May 22, 2025 - Coalition for Jewish Values condemns in the strongest terms the antisemitic murder of two Israeli embassy workers. Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, z'l, H'yd, are recalled by friends as dedicated and kind, and were soon to be married. Their heinous killing is yet another reminder of the relentless assault on not just Israeli civilians, but Jews, and the antisemitic rhetoric which seeks to justify these acts of terrorism.
Calls for “Free Palestine,” much less “There is only One Solution,” both of which were apparently voiced by the shooter, are not advocacy for peace or coexistence, but for ethnic cleansing and genocide. Israel is the only free country in the Middle East, so these are demands for the Holy Land to be J...
Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgram, two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington, were murdered on Wednesday night at an American Jewish Congress conference in Washington, DC.
They were a couple who were about to get engaged, Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter said.
“He bought a ring and planned to propose to her in Jerusalem – a beautiful couple who came to spend an evening at Washington’s cultural center,” he said.
Yaron Lischinsky
Lischinsky was born in Germany but moved to Israel at the age of 16. He served as a research assistant in the embassy’s policy department and was responsible for monitoring trends and events in the Middle East and North Africa.
He had a bachelor’s degree i...
Baltimore, MD – May 22, 2025 – 12:15PM - A crash on I-83 North at Exit 24 (the on-ramp to I-695) has caused significant traffic backups in the area. Expect delays.
"The brazen demands for an end to the Jewish State and the globalization of the intifada have always been a call to violence.
The call was answered. These antisemitic murders committed in our nation’s capital are a direct result of the organized and effective effort to demonize the Jewish state and to build hatred and encourage violence towards anyone associated with Israel. This should – and likely will not – be a wake-up call to those who self-righteously condemn Israel while ignoring its existential threats; who fail to recognize that antisemitism is a tinder box ready to be ignited by their irresponsible words; and who have yet to accept that calls for violence are not protected speech. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, Sarah ...
Washington, D.C. - May 22, 2025 - A federal judge on Thursday blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order to shut down the Education Department and ordered the agency to reinstate employees who were fired in mass layoffs. It marks a setback to one of Trump’s campaign promises.
Agudath Israel of America applauds the inclusion of game-changing federal school choice legislation in the budget reconciliation bill passed this morning. This legislation will help millions of children across the country including those wishing to attend yeshivas and other nonpublic schools.
Following a model already operating successfully in more than twenty states, the Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) will provide $5 billion in K-12 scholarships per year. It does this by allowing a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit for donors who contribute to Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO). These SGOs would then provide scholarships for a range of educational expenses, including private school tuition
